By the time of the 1900 census, Mary had borne 12 children, with 8 still living. By the time of the 1910 census, she had borne 15 children, with 9 still living.
The tombstone dates differ slightly from the death certificate dates. Her death certificate also gives conflicting information about her parents. They were shown as Joseph Titus and Catherine Head. It should be noted that she was being treated for a mental disorder at Rusk State Hospital, a psychiatric facility, and may have given wrong information herself. Her sons Bert and Commie and daughter Ila had her maiden name as Mary Head on their death certificates. Also, her husband was Joseph T. It is likely that Titus was his middle name.
