Another name for Gladys was Alia Gladys Kimbrow. ![]() General Notes: According to Pat White, Gladys and Eula the youngest of the Kimbrow children, never got to take their turn visiting the "Head" house as the "two maiden sisters" were too old to take care of them. The other girls were sent there in the summer months to learn to cook and do handwork and other cultural activities not provided at home. It was their delight to go because it meant they would not have to work in the cotton fields that summer. They worked very hard and covered their faces with buttermilk to reduce the risk of getting too dark. The "Head" home was located not far from the Bethany Church. ![]() Gladys married John Peter Innerhofer, son of Conrad Innerhofer and Margaret Eckelberger, on 16 Nov 1925 in , Johnson County, Texas.
