"A Cornwell Family History",1983, by Elaine Sullivan Cobb. "Ancestors of William Gravlee", about 1885, by William Gravlee, states that "his brother John married Rebecca Cornwell, the daughter of a well-known and well-to-do and respectable farmer. She lived only a few years." She had a daughter, Mary Catherine, who married a "Head" and was an heir to the Eli Cornwell estate.

Her name was given as Sallie Conrwall with a birthplace of Mississippi on Mary C. Head's death certificate by her son John.

Rebecca married John Gravlee. (John Gravlee was born on 31 May 1812 in Tennessee.)
