A GENIAL CITIZEN GONE.

Again death has entered the camp of the early settlers in this community, this time to claim Benjamin Franklin Noble, who was born in Huntington county, Pennsylvania, October 5, 1826, and came to Iowa in November of 1845, settling on the farm which he sold a couple of years ago to Theodore Kay. He was married to Nancy Dunn, August 1, 1852, and to them six children were born, five of whom are living. They are Mrs. Lenora Moritz, Mrs. Libbie Ten Eyck, Edward and Samuel Noble of this vicinity and John of Detroit, Minnesota.

Mr. Noble had been sick for about three months and Saturday morning, October 15, passed away at his home three miles north of town. Rev. J. K. Driver conducted the funeral services from the house Sunday afternoon and the remains were buried in the Arlington cemetery.

This old gentleman, was one of the charter members of the Arlington Presbyterian church, and lived a life truly Christian. Everyone knew him and everyone seemed to be his friend. He was of a quiet disposition, but genial and obliging, and his death has occasioned a deep gloom throughout the community. The good old mother, who bravely and willingly shared the trials of her husband for more than half a century, and the children, have the sincere sympathy of all in their untold grief.
