At the time of the 1900 census, Lenora was widowed. She was a farmer in Jackson, Montgomery County, Iowa. She owned her farm free of mortgage. Her son Frank was a farm laborer. She had borne 5 children with all still living. Her obituary mentions 6 by name. In 1918 she was living in Cheyenne, Laramie County, Wyoming, with son Harry. At the time of the 1920 census, Lenora lived in Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. She was paying a mortgage to own her home. Harry lived with her.

MRS. MORITZ DIES AT HOME OF SON; INVALID 7 YEARS


Mrs. Leanorea Alice Moritz, 83, died Monday at 6:45 a.m. at the home of her son Frank northeast of Villisca where she had lived for the last 10 years. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Wolfe funeral home and burial was made in Arlington cemetery. Dr. W.J. Fowler was in charge of the services.

Mrs. Moritz, daughter of Frank and Nancy Noble, was an invalid seven years before her death and spent 16 months of that time confined to her bed.

Married in 1877

She was married to Samuel M. Moritz, March 1, 1877. He preceded her in death , Feb 10, 1889. Except for two years in Minnesota, seven years in Cheyenne, Wyo., and two years in Waterloo, she spent most of her life in and around Villisca.

She is survived by two sons, Frank of Villisca and Harry of Cheyenne, Wyo. Four sons preceded her in death, Albert of Waterloo, Guy of Oakley, Kans., Lester of Laramie, Wyo., and Charles who died in infancy. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was a charter member of the Arlington Presbyterian church organization which was formed at No. 10 school; Washington township in 1892.

Attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Orval Mortiz of St. Louis, Mo., Harry Moritz of Cheyenne, Wyo., Mrs. Earl Edwards of Omaha, George Whan of Burlington, and Roy Whan of Creston.

Pallbearers were Ira Alford, Clay King, Kay Wheeler, Billy Wheeler, Quincy Dunn and Lou Raney. Music was furnished by Mrs. Marie Underwood, accompanied by Mrs. Francis Wheeler.
