  General Notes:

Her baptismal record has the birth date as 17 Feb 1878. Both major sources on the family, The Bunte Family History and The Wall Family, 1849-1996, have the birth date as 15 Feb 1878. Her birth date was given as May 1881 and age as 19 on the 1900 census in Bastrop County, Texas. The birthplaces of both parents were listed as Germany. (Her mother was known to have been born in Texas.)

By the time of the 1910 census, Isabella had born 9 children with all still living. Her age was shown as 32. She gave her parents' birthplace as Texas. (Mike Wall was known to be an immigrant.) On the 1920 census, she gave her father's birthplace as Germany and her mother's as Texas. Her age was shown as 42. Isabella was listed as 52 on the 1930 census. She had married at the age of 20. Both her parents are shown as born in Texas.

Meta is listed on her baptismal record (5 Dec1879 Bastrop County, Texas), but most all other legal documents list her as Mattie. She was Belle, Isabelle, or Isabella on all the census records. Mattie is on her tombstone. Mattie Isabella Bunte was on the Texas Death Index record.

Her husband was her first cousin.

The Smithville Times, Thursday, 12 Mar 1942 had these comments:

The earlier life of Mrs. Bunte was spent in Burnet County. Mr. and Mrs. Bunte started housekeeping 44 years ago at the same place, where the family now resides, two miles southeast of Smithville in the Lake Farm Community. She was a devout wife and mother, a member of the First Presbyterian Church...She led a very simple but useful life. Her wise council, sending flowers to the sick, vegetables to the needy and other traits of kindness too numerous to mention will long be remembered by more than a few. The latch string always hung on the outside, and no stranger was ever turned away.

Belle married Henry Charles Christian Bunte, son of August Bunte Sr and Meta Garlipp, on 12 Apr 1898 in Smithville, Bastrop County, Texas.¹ (Henry Charles Christian Bunte was born on 22 Jun 1878 in Industry, Austin County, Texas,^{11 12} died on 4 Mar 1955 in Bastrop, Bastrop County, Texas ^{12 13} and was buried on 5 Mar 1955 in Oak Hill Cemetery, Smithville, Bastrop County, Texas ¹².). The cause of his death was uremia due to renal failure and generalized arteriosclerosis.⁸
