Edith Heine Wilson age 85, longtime resident of the Bertram/Smithwick/Oatmeal area, passed away on November 20, 2012 after a courageous fight with Alzheimer's. She was born On November 4, 1927 in Smithwick, Texas to Richard and Willie Heine. She married Clifford (C.M.) Wilson on August 17, 1947 in Bertram at the First United Methodist Church. She attended school and graduated from Oatmeal.
She was a member of the Bertram Flower Club, volunteered at the Nursing home after her retirement as a school cafeteria worker where everyone raved about her wonderful hot rolls and desserts. Her family's favorite desserts were her chocolate pie, fudge and peach cobbler.
Edith was proud of the accomplishments of her four boys even though while they were growing up she threatened them with military school. The grandkids were "grand" in her eyes even though one of her granddaughter liked to play with frogs and was chasing her brother and cousin around mamaw's house with one. If she had known her great grandchildren she would have thought they were great too.
Edith is survived by her husband of 65 years, Clifford Wilson, one sister Pauline Lester of Burnet, four sons, Lee and wife Shirley of Bertram, Don and wife Ruth of Lake Jackson, Randy and Ricky Wilson of Bertram. Grandchildren Tracy Wilson of Georgetown, Julie and husband Steve Wahrmund of Bertram, Vicki and Seth Viddal of Benton, Colorado, Rachel and husband Flea Cantu of Lake Jackson, Tx, Christina Wilson and Jason Wilson of Lake Jackson, Tx, Shelby and Holly Wilson of Lampasas. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and one great, great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Willie Heine, brothers Melvin Heine, Pete Heine, sisters Ida Mildred, Gaynelle Brinkley, and Marguerite Cox.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Mahomet Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. in Mahomet, Texas. Arrangements by Clements-Wilcox Burnet, Tx. 2
