  General Notes:

Thomas's parents were Thomas Lloyd Denniston and Mary Emily Burnham, both born in Tennessee. They came to Texas between 1849 and 1854 and were raising cattle at House Mountain, Llano County, Texas, at the time of the 1870 census. The children listed were William, Sarah, Emma, Lorency, James, Thomas, George, Jessy, and Ellen.

By the time of the 1880 census, the family had moved to Burnet County, Texas. Thomas's father had died and his mother was listed as head of household with Thomas, George, Jesse, and Mary Ellen at home. Thomas was listed as a farmer with his younger brothers working on the farm.

At the time of the 1900 and 1910 census, Thomas owned his farm in Burnet County,Texas, free of any mortgage. It was listed as a general farm in 1910. He reported that he owned his property with a mortgage on the 1920 census. He was a general farmer. He was still farming in 1930.
