Ed Soules was born May 5, 1917, on the family ranch in Mills County, Central Texas. He was the second of six children born to Luther Hugh and Blanche Harper Soules. He served in the U.S. Army in North Africa and Italy during World War II.
Mr. Soules was preceded in death by his parents; older brother, Luther Hugh II; brothers-in-law, John Thompson and Bill Frame; sisters-in-law, Merle Soules, Aileen Soules, Sybil Soules and Jane Thompson; nephew, Dallas Soules; and daughter-in-law, Mary Carolyn Soules.
