He was reported as 10 years of age in the 1870 census. His birth date was recorded as Jun 1863 on 1900 census. He was a farmer in Hood County, Texas. He rented his farm. At the time of the 1910 and 1920 census, William was paying a mortgage to own his farm in Mills County, Texas. It was listed as a general farm. By the time of the 1930 census, he owned his farm.

His wives were first cousins. His last residence was Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. He had lived there 2 years.

The death certificate has William Mozey Sparkman. The death date on his tombstone is one day later than that recorded by the death certificate and Texas Death Index.

W. M. Sparkman
W. M. Sparkman was born June 26, 1862, in Rusk County Texas, and died October 19, 1948, in Brownwood, Texas, at the age of 86 years. He had lived in Mills County 39 years.

When eleven years old he was converted and united with the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Rusk County, Texas, and was active in the church as a deacon. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Funeral services were held October 20, 1948, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Goldthwaite. Interment followed in the Pecan Wells Cemetery.

Rev. Joseph L. Emery was in charge of the services and he was assisted by Rev. L. L. Hays and T. J. Sparkman. The Masonic Lodge had charge of the service at the graveside.

Mr. Sparkman was preceded in death by six sons. He is survived by the widow; six sons, T. J. of Fort worth, R. M. of Eunice, New Mexico, W. T. and L. C. of Brownsfield, J. W. of Marble Falls, and Cecil of Indian Gap; three daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Firwell of Eunice, New Mexico, Mrs. John Grayson of Brownwood, and Edna Sparkman of Austin; one brother, L. J. Sparkman of Fort Worth; one half-sister, Mrs. Cassie Rhodes of Mullin; twenty-six grandchildren and twentyeight great-grandchildren. 10
