When John registered for the WWI draft on 12 Sep 1918, he was an oil worker for Texas Company in Oil City, Caddo County, Louisiana. Murray Sparkman of Garrison, Texas, was his nearest relative. (I can't find any record of a person with this name.--Rose Lee Wall 2010) His last residence was Seymour, Baylor County, Texas. He had lived there 20 years.
