GOLDTHWAITE ~
Funeral services for Carl Evans, 85, of Goldthwaite, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel, with Paul Blake officiating. Burial will follow in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

He died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, at Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville.

He was born April 15, 1921, in Center Point to A.E. and Breta Allsup Evans. On Dec. 23, 1941 he was married to Josephine Haggerton in Uvalde.

Survivors include five children, Roy Evans of Ballinger, Albert Evans of Mullin, Jimmy Evans of Priddy, and Breta Head and Sibyl Evans, both of Goldthwaite; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Josephine, on Oct. 12, 2003; and one brother, Harry Evans.
