Henry Scheller, Weimar Area Native, Dies
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Shatto Funeral Home, Columbus, for Henry C. Scheller, 81, of Glidden, who died Tuesday in Columbus Convalescent Home.
Rev. Snow, Glidden Baptist minister, officiated. Burial was in the Live Oak Cemetery southeast of Weimar.
Mr. Scheller was born near Weimar Sept. 8, 1885, a son of Louis and Mary Jane Berthold Scheller. He married Miss Vera Obenhaus on Oct. 5, 1910, and they settled in the Oak Grove community near Weimar, later moving to Osage and then to Glidden. He was a farmer, later a railroad worker, and still later an employee of Texas Construction Materials.
His wife survives along with one daughter, Mrs. Garland Bankston of Glidden; two grandchildren, one brother, Jesse Scheller of Houston; and three sisters, Mrs. Nora Stapleton of Columbus, Ms. P. W. Obenhaus of Glidden and Mrs. Alma Tooke of Houston.
