Mrs. Viola Elizabeth Stone Brand, 81, of Log Cabin passed away August 7, 2006, at her residence. A private memorial service was held on August 10, 2006, at the Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Cooper Funeral Home of Athens.

Mrs. Brand was born October 14, 1924, in Crawford, Ark., to her parents Thomas and Willie Head Ferguson. She moved to Texas with her family at an early age. She was a homemaker and had also worked for several years as a seamstress. She married Bob Stone in 1941 who preceded her in death in 1993. She married Walter Brand in January of 2003.

Mrs. Brand is survived by her husband Walter Brand of Log Cabin; sons and daughters in law, Kenneth and Penny Stone of Balch Springs, Tommy and Jean Stone of Red Oak, Steve Stone of Gatesville; daughter Beth Carrell of Carrolton; stepchildren, Dennis and Anita Brand of Log Cabin, Sharon Ann and Barry Joyner of Alvarado, Cheron Harless of Ferris, Herman and Linda Kervin of Dallas, James and Ann Marie Worden of Carneys Point, New Jersey; brother Allie Ferguson of Pflugerville; sisters, Sylvia Garland of Farmers Branch, Irene Peoples of Tyler and Billie Jo Wade of Dallas.

Viola married Robert Stone in 1941.¹ (Robert Stone was born on 16 Dec 1922 ⁴ and died on 10 Aug 1993 in , Henderson County, Texas ^{1 4 5}.)

Viola next married Walter Robert Brand.
