She was living in Waveland, Louisiana, in 2004. After Hurricane Katrina on 20 Aug 2005, she was displaced to Zachary, Louisiana. In 2010 Hattabelle was living in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Before television was available, Hattabelle was known by her siblings and family as a great story teller. She entertained and kept rapt attention and imagination of all with her spellbinding stories of fantastic journeys. 4
