The children from Joseph Peacock's first marriage that were living with them in Edwards County, Texas, at the time of the 1900 census were Lena 1887, John Lincoln 1889, Ivey M. 1891, and Joseph W. 1894. Joseph owned his home. He was working as a day laborer.

At the time of the 1920 census, Joseph was a minister of the gospel in Burnet County, Texas. He was paying a mortgage to own his home. His children John and Lena, widowed with her children Beatrice, Vera, and Ivey, were part of the household as well as his children with Henrietta, Sidney, Frankie, Charles, Lora, and Gladys born about 1915.

Rettie married Joseph S. Peacock on 24 Dec 1895. (Joseph S. Peacock was born on 4 Mar 1862 and died on 25 Feb 1953.)
