Mary Kathleen Heffington, 85, of Marble Falls passed away Friday, Oct. 19 in Johnson City. She was born March 6, 1922 in Rockvale, Texas, a community near the present Rockvale Cemetery, to Robert and Ima Frasier Denniston.
She graduated from Marble Falls High School after attending schools in Double Horn and Spicewood and was a lifetime resident of the Marble Falls area. She married Fred Heffington on July 27, 1941 in Marble Falls. Mrs. Heffington devoted her life to God, family and the family ranch at Double Horn Community, which she loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Fred Heffington; her parents, Rob and Ella Denniston and Ima and Lee Roy Bowles, Sr.; brothers, Donnie Bowles, Adrian Denniston, Dwight Denniston; sister, Florene Bridges.
She is survived by her son, Lyle Heffington and his wife, Cathy, of Houston; two grandsons, Brett Heffington and Natalia, residents of Argentina and Reese Heffington and his wife, Amy, of California; brother, Lee Roy Bowles, Jr. and his wife, Doris, of Marble Falls; sister, Betty Birkelbach and her husband, Walter, Littlefield; sister-in-law, Golda Denniston Lewis of Marble Falls; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23 in the Edgar Funeral Home, Marble Falls.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 in the Edgar Funeral Home Chapel with Holton George officiating. Interment will follow in the Rockvale Cemetery, Spicewood.
Active pallbearers will be Mike Allen, Danny Brady, Jason Brady, Ron Frasier, Brett Heffington and Reese Heffington.
The family requests that memorials be made to Marble Falls Public Library or the American Cancer Society.
