James Napoleon Reid ^{3 4 5}

  General Notes:

The area of Tennessee where he was born is now Blount County, south of the current Knox County.

At the time of the 1850 census, James was farming in Lawrence County, Alabama. He had real estate valued at $1200. He was listed with his 8 youngest children. His wife Polly was not listed with the family.

Had place of death as Benton County, Mississippi, but that county wasn't formed until after the civil war.

Grave may not have headstone. It is in national forest. He was buried beside his wife Polly Thompson and James T. Reid his son. = cem. loc. R1-W,t3-S,section 23= Cemetery was completely covered with vines and could not be seen in 2007. Sam G. Reid (his grandson) stated in letter that he was buried there. In 2009 Jerry Reid found cemetery and took photos of grave site.

James married Polly B. Thompson on 12 Aug 1823 in , Blount County, Tennessee.^{1 2} (Polly B. Thompson was born on 12 Apr 1807,⁶ died in 1850 in Mississippi and was buried in , Benton County, Mississippi.)
