On a June 2011 trip to Hancock, Maryland, Vince Prichard was able to photograph and transcribe the tombstone inscription which reads:

WIFE OF
JACOB BROSIUS
who departed this life Nov 24 1846
aged 61 years, 9 months
and 5 days
Farewell vain world, I'm going home
My savior smiles and bids me come
Now far beyond this mortal shore

Marie married Jacob Brosius, son of Jacob Brosius and Maria Catherine Newman, on 25 May 1804.1 2 (Jacob Brosius was born on 7 Aug 1774 in Pennsylvania,9 died on 13 Jul 1862 in Gallatin, Daviess County, Missouri 10 and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Gallatin, Daviess County, Missouri 11.)
