Thomas L. Atchison

Bartlett - Services for Thomas (Tommy) Atchison, 83, of Bartlett and formally of Killeen, will be on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 2pm at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartlett with Pastor Mike Swink and Pastor Margaret Clemings. Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Bartlett.

Mr. Atchison died Friday, November 5, in a Bartlett nursing home. He was born April 26, 1927 in Ralls, Texas to Thomas M. and Jim Esta Reid Atchison and was raised in the Gatesville area. He was in the US Air Force during World War II stationed at Guam. He married Janice Wentrcek on September 28, 1958 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartlett.

He was a car and mobile home dealer in Temple and Killeen for over 40 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was on the Killeen Planning and Zoning Commission until retiring in Bartlett where he was now a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

He loved traveling, fishing, yard work and going to the lake house. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Phil Atchison, and two brothers, R.L. Atchison and Duard Atchison.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ricky and wife Judy Atchison and Jerry and wife Susan Atchison all of Killeen. Four- grandchildren; Jeff and wife Kristi Atchison, and Shelley and husband Craig (Bear) Pardon all of Killeen and Mandy Atchison of Burleson and Todd Atchison. Four-great-grandchildren Logan and Kaci Atchison and Emily and Kenzie Pardon all of Killeen. He also had numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to St. John Lutheran Church Tabernacle Fund, Po.Box 70, Bartlett, Texas 76511, Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department, Po Box 676, Bartlett, Texas 76511 or VistaCare Hospice, 2626 S. 37th, Temple, Texas 76504.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 8, 2010 from 6pm-8pm at Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett.

Pallbearers : Jeff Atchison, Bear Pardon, Steven Wentrcek, Zachary Janke, David Kell, Paul Cosper, Ellis Atchison, and James Atchison

Honorary pallbearers: Barton Marshburn, Ace Connell, Gaylon Christi, Bobby Grant, Kenneth Kunz, Rayland Kunz, and Mike Adamson.

Soloist: Lynette Connell Kunz.
