When Thomas registered for the WWI draft on 24 Aug 1918, he was self employed in Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas. His nearest relative was wife, Jimmie Esta. At the time of the 1920 census, Thomas was farming in Crosby County, Texas. He rented. By the time of the 1930 census, the family had returned to Mills County, Texas. Thomas rented his home. He was a laborer doing odd jobs.
Social Security had his last residence as Killeen, Bell County, Texas.
Thomas married Jimmie Esta Reid, daughter of William Ellis Reid and Mary Ethel Bradley, on 12 May 1916 in North Bennett, Mills County, Texas.
