When Moran registered for the WWI draft on 12 Sep 1918, he was farming in Fairy, Hamilton County, Texas. His father, Walter Caster Blakley, was his nearest relative. At the time of the 1920 census, Moran was a farm laborer. He was lodging with W. L. and Maud Whitson in Hico, Hamilton County, Texas. At the time of the 1930 census, he was a merchant with a filling station. He rented his home in Bosque County, Texas, for $8 a month. He had been married to Vinita for 10 years and had a son Billie, 8.
His last residence was Iredell, Bosque County, Texas. He had lived there 35 years. He was a filling station operator.
