His birth name was Douglas Charlie Wall. He used Douglas C. Wall on Mary Kay's birth record. But he was always known as Johnny. His and Doris's double tombstone has been precut and placed with his name as Douglas Johnny Wall.

March 19, 1929 - December 16, 2012

Douglas Johnny Wall was born March 19, 1929, to Max and Mary (Kloth) Wall at Spicewood, Texas. He went to his Heavenly Father on December 16, 2012, at the age of 83.

Johnny attended the Spicewood School and served in the U.S. Army making the rank of Corporal during the Korean War. In 1951 he and his wife Doris moved to Burnet. He worked at Kroegers Feed and Implement Company for many years. During this time he bailed hay all over Burnet County. He later went to work for the Texas Highway Department and retired after 25 years of service.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Burnet and attended regularly as long as his health permitted. He served as a Director of the Oatmeal Festival and enjoyed barbecuing for it. He spent many hours working on the Community Center located at the Oatmeal School grounds.

Hunting, ranching, and gardening were his most interesting hobbies. In most recent years he has enjoyed Arm Chair Stadium if the Texas Longhorns or Dallas Cowboys were playing. He also enjoyed watching old western movies, even though he may have seen them many times before.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Maxine Alman and Alice Cofer and by his brother Stillman Wall. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris; his daughter Mary Kay Fleming and husband Joe; two grandsons Shane Warden and Joshua Townsend and three great grandchildren Jerrick, Calli, and Tommy Joe Warden. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Lillian Wall and brother-in-law Bill Alman.

Visitation will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 19 at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home with Reverend Barry Drake officiating. Interment will follow at the Rockvale Cemetery near Spicewood. Pallbearers named were Shane Warden, Josh Townsend, Richard Ellis, Ralph Cofer, Carl Hibler, and Rob Boyd. Honorary pallbearers named were Clayton Lester, Donald Hibler, Lonnie Anglin, and Ted Baker. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Rockvale Cemetery c/o Lyle Heffington 1110 Ave. F. Marble Falls, Texas 78654. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.clementswilcoxburnet.com. 5
