  General Notes:

Gottlieb's parents were Gottlieb Kaase, born in Anhalt, Germany, and Carolina Reineke, born in Prussia. They came to America in 1866 and were naturalized. All the children were born in Texas, probably in Austin County, where they settled. Gottlieb's siblings as of the 1880 census were Anna, Mary, Hermann, Ida, and Carl. His mother had 13 children with 9 still living as of the 1910 census. His father is buried at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Killeen, Bell County, Texas. The dates on the tombstone are 18 Mar 1840-21 Nov 1915.

At the time of the 1900 census, Gottlieb was head of household with 3 children. He was farming in Austin County, Texas. He rented his farm. They farmed in Industry, Austin County, until 1903 when they moved to Smithville on another farm. The family lived near Smithville until 1928 when they moved to New Bern Community near Taylor, Williamson County, Texas. Gottlieb farmed all his life.

(Adelia Schmidt was born on 12 Aug 1876 in Houston, Harris County, Texas, died on 22 Apr 1930 in Texas and was buried in Wuthrich Hill Cemetery, Williamson County, Texas.)
