Marriage Notes: William and Julia Ellen left Bell County with the Thompson family in 1875, and came to the Frio Canyon. William Henry and Pat Cummins rode horses across the mountain to Rocksprings to get the marriage licence. As William Henry courted Julia, they were constantly supervised. The night William asked for her hand in marriage, Julia was allowed to walk him to his horse. After he had stepped up into the saddle, he stooped down and kissed her, their first kiss. |
