![]() General Notes: Charles Elmer finished normal school at Warrensburg and taught manual arts for a time. When he registered for the WWI draft on 5 Jun 1917, he was a contractor and builder working for his father in Warrensburg, Johnson County, Missouri. He was single. He claimed an exemption because he wanted to follow his trade. He later took over his fathers contracting business and built a house on a lot that was purchased by his Grandfather Woolsey in 1879 on East Broad St. ![]() Charles married Bernice Peerson on 16 Aug 1919 in Oak Grove, Jackson County, Missouri. (Bernice Peerson was born about 1894 1.) |
