The information I received was that his birth location was Newberg, Germany. I can only find Neuberg, Hesse, Germany and Neeberg, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Germany. There is also these possibilities: Neuburg an der Donau, Bavaria, Germany, and Neuburg, with these states Rhineland-Palatinate, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Bavaria, Baden-Wurttemberg, and Lower Saxony.

At the time of the 1910 census, August was renting his home in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas. He was a laborer for an oil refinery. August's parents were born in Germany. He indicated that he immigrated to America in 1885 and became a naturalized citizen. His brother Charlie, age 27, was listed with the family and gave the same immigration and parentage answers. He was a laborer for an oil refinery also. When August registered for the WWI draft on 12 Sep 1918, he was a declarant alien and citizen of Germany. He worked as a boiler fireman for The Texas Company, Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas. His wife, Hilda, was his nearest relative.

At the time of the 1920 census, August owned his home in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas, free of any mortgage. This time he gave his immigration year as 1884 and said he became a naturalized citizen in 1916. He still worked for an oil refinery. On the 1930 census, August said he owned his home in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas. It was valued at $1700. He had married at age 23. He was a laborer for Texas Refining Company. On this census he gave the immigration year of 1900 and said he was naturalized.

When he died at age 67, he was a retired oil refinery employee. He had lived in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas, for 35 years.

He was listed as F.A. on the 1930 census, August F. on the Texas Death Index.

August married Hilda Koch, daughter of Charles Carl Koch and Clara Hennig, on 24 Aug 1902 in Warda, Fayette County, Texas.¹ (Hilda Koch was born on 28 Dec 1885 in Industry, Austin County, Texas,⁹ died on 18 Mar 1971 in Houston, Harris County, Texas ^{7 9} and was buried on 20 Mar 1971 in Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas ⁹.). The cause of her death was septicemia, multiple gram negative microorganisms.⁵
