  General Notes:

WINTERS -- Jewell Kraatz, age 86, of Winters died Tuesday, October 11, 2005 in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2005 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Reverend Glenn Dittmer officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Winters Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends and visitors at 6:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

She was born on July 18, 1919 in Hatchell and graduated from Bethel High School. She married Walter Kraatz on September 22, 1937 in Ballinger and lived in Runnels County all her life.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Good Neighbors Sewing Club, President of the Lutheran Ladies Aid, served on the conference board, was secretary of the Women of the Church and Ladies Aid Circle, the Chancel Guild and served on the board of the Z. I. Hale Museum.

Survivors include: 4 sons and 3 daughters, Joe Kraatz and wife, Siggy of Fort Worth, Walter Kraatz and wife, Carol of Fort Worth, Willie Kraatz of Wilmington, Delaware, Ronald Kraatz and wife, Eleanor of South Windsor, Connecticut, Christine White and husband, Dale of Abilene, Margie Chaney and husband, Lee Roy of Brady, Roselyn Hudgens and husband, Alan of Ballinger; one daughter in law, Betty Kraatz of Bryan; 2 sisters, Mary Tiney Fouts of Irving, and Jolene Barnes of Dallas; one brother in law, Fred Dill of Tye; 2 sisters in law, Nancy Chapman of Eastland and Ann Kraatz of Irving; 15 grand- children, 9 great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter and one son, Charles Wayne Kraatz.

Her grandsons will be pallbearers.
