Another name for Gus was Andrew J. Ingram.4 ![]() General Notes: At the time of the 1880 census, he was a farmer in Blount County, Alabama. He organized and operated the Ingram Land Company in 1888 and was its president. Largely through his efforts, the town of Oneonta was incorporated on February 18, 1891. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He served as a Captain in the Confederate Army, and as Mayor of Oneonta. ![]() Additional Information: • Military Service: Major, Company B, 12th Battalion, Alabama Cavalry, Between 26 Jul 1862 and 25 Jul 1865, the Civil War. 3 He enlisted at the rank of Captain in Chepultepec, Alabama. In 1864 he was promoted to Major. He was captured at Mureesboro, Tennessee, and sent to Johnsons Island, Ohio. He was injured with a broken leg. He was released on oath and parole in 1865. ![]() Gus married Mary Adaline Baker, daughter of Alexander Baker and Rebecca Murphree, about 1851 in , Blount County, Alabama, United States.
