At the time of the 1900 census, Everett was a lodger on Grant Avenue in San Francisco, San Francisco County, California. His occupation was listed as clerk (Fur. lids). When Everett registered for the WWI draft on 12 Sep 1918, he was a salesman for E. Clemens Horst Company in New York City. He listed his sister Mattie, Mrs. E. J. McManimon, of San Jose California, as his nearest relative. His address appears to be the same as brother Alfred at the Hotel Longacre on west 47th St. At the time of the 1920 census, he was renting a room in the Mizpah Hotel in Tonopah, Nye County, Nevada. His occupation was clerk, retail dry goods. At the time of the 1930 census, he was a salesman of public utilities. He rented his home in Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County, California.

Everett married Eva about 1927. (Eva was born about 1895 in Kansas.)
