Jo Anne May

  General Notes:

Jo Anne died Thursday, March 13, 2014 in Muleshoe. She was born June 5, 1931 in Thomas, Oklahoma to Chet and Hattie Marie (Graves) May. She married Marshal Head in Custer, Oklahoma on October 7, 1951.

Background:
Jo Anne moved from Tucson, Arizona to Muleshoe in 1954. She attended Western Oklahoma State Hospital Nursing School and was a registered nurse. She was the Director of Nursing at West Plains Hospital in Muleshoe, and the Director of Bailey and Cochran County Texas Department of Health. Jo Anne was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Muleshoe, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Emmaus Walk Reunion Group. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, J.P. May.


Survivors:
Her husband, Marshal; one son, David Head of Muleshoe, Texas; three daughters, Janice Eddy of Lawton, Oklahoma, Lynda Couch of Lubbock, Texas and Susan Hollingsworth of Merkel, Texas; one sister, Helen McDonald of Alton Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Douglas Widener, Monica Burchett, Katie Hodges, Trevor Couch, Weston Couch, Courtnee Harris, Beau Henry, Brad Henry, Natalie Head, and Marshal Wayne Head; and 10 great-grandchildren
