He rented his home in Lockney, Floyd County, Texas, and was working as an automobile driver. When Lee registered for the WWI draft, he was a mechanic in Lockney, Texas. He was married with children. (Note: his registration was recorded on Dr. J. C. Guest, Dentist, Lockney, Texas, letterhead rather than the usual card.) By the time of the 1920 census, he owned his home in Lockney, Floyd County, Texas, free of any mortgage. He worked in a garage. By the time of the 1930 census, the family had moved to Amarillo, Potter County, Texas. Lee worked as a mechanic for a motor company. He rented his home for $25 a month. His death certificate indicated that he had lived in Amarillo for 40 years prior to his death. His occupation had been mechanic. He was divorced.
