David Phil Disman went home to be with his savior on Sunday, June 8, 2008, when the medical helicopter crashed while they were in route to Herman Hospital in Houston.
He was born to Rosie Grimes-Head and Filmore Disman May 29, 1950, in San Angelo, Texas. He had two sisters and four brothers. At the age of 18 he joined the Navy and was a Sub-tender during Vietnam. Before being deemed disabled he worked as a sewing machine repair man and a TDCJ Correctional Officer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Joe.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Disman; his two sons, Johny Lynn Disman and wife Sherry Disman, and Jason Lee Disman; and two stepdaughters, Brianna Lee King, and Shannon Alliene Curry; sister, Edith and brother-in-law Jimmy Teague; sister, Joyce McGee, Val, Frank, and Ray Lee Disman, all of Breckenridge. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and close family and friends.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Brooke Cemetery under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Friday June 13, 2008, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
