Sallie's parents were Alfred H. Trice, born in Alabama, and Mary L. Weideman, born in New Jersey. At the time of the 1910 census, the family lived in Scurry County, Texas, where her father worked at a cotton gin. They lived there also in 1920, but her father was farming. She and Festus lived in Scurry County in 1930. Her last residence was Lorenzo, Crosby County, Texas.
