Tilden was listed as a laborer on the home farm in the 1910 census. When he registered for the WWI draft, he was a grocery clerk for Young and Young in Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas. He was scheduled to enter Meridian College on 17 Sep 1918. At the time of the 1920 census, he was working as a driver of a grocery store wagon. At the time of the 1930 census, he was a salesman of motor cars. He owned his home in Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas. It was valued at $2000.

CLEBURNE - Tilden Head Sr. of Cleburne, a retired automobile salesman, died Wednesday at a Cleburne nursing home after a long illness. He was 92. Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home in Cleburne. Burial will be in Cleburne Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Head was a lifelong resident of Johnson County. He worked as an automobile salesman for Forrest Chevrolet Company in Cleburne before retiring.

Survivors: Wife, Flossie Head of Cleburne; two sons, Tilden Head Jr. of Dallas and Dan Harris of Seagoville; brother, Forrest Head of Hillsboro; sister, Juanita Powell of Nacogdoches; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
