Brad Crawford was born February 17, 1935 in Fort Stockton, Texas. He was a graduate of Seminole High School, Texas Tech University, and the University of Texas School of Law. While at Texas Tech, Brad served as Chief Justice of the Texas Tech Supreme Court and was a member of Phi Sigma Alpha, honorary government fraternity. In law school, he was a member of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, and the American Law Student Association. Upon graduation from law school in 1958 he joined the firm of Crenshaw, Dupree, and Milam, and was a partner in that firm for his entire professional career. He also served in the U.S. Army and in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a Captain in the Judge Advocate General Section.
Throughout his career, Brad made time to be active and devote his talents to both his profession and to his community. He was a member of the Lubbock County Bar Association (serving as secretary-treasurer), the State Bar of Texas, the International Association of Insurance Counsel (serving on the board of directors) and Texas Association of Defense Counsel (serving on the board of directors in 1974-75). He served on the State Bar Admissions Committee and the State Bar Grievance Committee. He was a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, Fellow of the College of the State Bar, and Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
His parents were Brad Crawford Sr. and Verna Ellis. Brad practiced law in Lubbock, Texas up until his death in 1995. He is survived by his wife, Bobbe, and three children.
