Colorado Pioneer 1859. Came to Colorado with Charles A. Cook who later became Denver's Mayor 1861-63. Operated a store with Cook in Denver. They accepted large amounts of gold dust for payment and later would make their own form of money called "scrip" to exchange for it and it was used all over town. They later changed the store into just a banking business.

His household in Denver, Arapahoe County, Colorado, consisted of his wife, 2 daughters, his mother, his mother in law shown as Maggie George, her son John E. Anderson, and Kate Bassett 19. At the time of the 1880 census, Jasper was managing real estate. His household in Denver consisted of his wife, 5 daughters, his parents and a domestic servant Della Wilson 22 born in Norway. He died at the home of his son in law in Denver. ³

Jep married Anna Love George, daughter of Alfred George and Margaret Robinson Wilson. (Anna Love George was born on 25 Dec 1847 in Fulton, Callaway County, Missouri,³ died on 10 Mar 1927 in Denver, Denver County, Colorado ³ and was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Denver, Denver County, Colorado ⁵.)
