General Notes:
Friederike sailed from Bremen, Germany, in March 1869 to Galveston aboard the Hannover with her husband and two children. Their last residence had been Cosvig, Germany. They were steerage passengers. They arrived at New Orleans, Louisiana, on 6 Apr 1870 and then continued on to Galveston, Texas.
She became ill with yellow fever on board the ship coming to America and never fully recovered.
The 1870 census record of Industry, Austin County, Texas. recorded on 3 Dec 1870 lists both mother and daughter as making up an August Bunte family of Anhalt Saxon origin with all family members the approximate right ages for this family. It is therefore believed that Friederike and her daughter by the same name survived until at least 1871.
Friederike married Andreas Christian August Bunte, son of Andreas Gottlieb Bunte and Johanne Kampfenkel, on 3 Sep 1856 in Coswig, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany. (Andreas Christian August Bunte was born on 12 Feb 1830 in Coswig, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany, died in Apr 1899 in Winchester, Fayette County, Texas 4 and was buried in Bunte Cemetery, Smithville, Bastrop County, Texas 3.)
