In the 1910 census, her father was listed as born in Tennessee and her mother in the United States. By that time she had borne 8 children with 7 still living. At the time of the 1930 census, Nancy was listed as head of household in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. She owned her home valued at $2500. She was shown as widowed, but apparently she was divorced because her husband died in 1962. Cleo, Ather, Aleatha, and Bernice were with her.

Her last residence was Falfurrias, Brooks County, Texas.
