  General Notes:

My uncle was crippled by a wagon accident and I knew him as a very young child not over 5 yrs of age.--I remember him playing the piano for us kids and singing little "ditty" songs.--Aunt Emma came to live on the farm and stayed a good many years living in the log house on the farm until her death.
Herbert Willard Brosius. Note : I was named after him as all the Brosius's were called by their middle names.

In the 1900 census, Jacob was living in Leadville, Lake County, Colorado. He gave his father's birthplace as Maryland, and his mother's as Missouri. Birth date was given as Apr 1864. The tombstone is cut with 1865-1933. In the 1910 census, Jacob listed his occupation as proprietor of a livery stable. He rented his home in Garfield County, Colorado. In the 1920 census, Jacob gave his occupation as laborer, team work. He was living in Glenwood Springs, Garfield County, Colorado. In 1930, Jacob wasn't working. He rented his home in Glenwood Springs, Garfield County, Colorado, for $12 a month.

Nickname may have been "Kid". Several references were made in Colorado newspapers of Kid Brosius of Leadville going hunting or buying horses.

The marriage license showed Jacob's residence as Leadville, Lake County, Colorado and Emma's as Eagle County, Colorado. The marriage was performed by Leonard G. Thompson, minister of the gospel. The witnesses were Mrs. O. H. Watson and Mr. F. A. Barlow.
