Samuel Sampson Posey ¹

   Cause of his death was chronic nephritis.²

  General Notes:

At the time of the1920 and 1930 census, Samuel was a civil engineer with the hishway department. In 1920 he rented his home in Gillespie County, Texas. In 1930, he owned his home in Austin, Travis County, Texas which was valued at $4500.

Samuel married Mary Redman Johnson, daughter of Gen Adam Rankin Johnson and Maria Josephine Eastland, on 30 Dec 1903. (Mary Redman Johnson was born on 11 Sep 1884 in Burnet, Burnet County, Texas,³ died on 18 Jan 1960 in Austin, Travis County, Texas ³ and was buried on 19 Jan 1960 in Old Burnet Cemetery, Burnet, Burnet County, Texas ^{3 4}.). The cause of her death was cerebral vascular thrombosis due to congestive heart failure and generalized arteriosclerosis.²

JOHNSON-POSEY
Miss Mary Johnson of Burnet, daughter of General A. R. Johnson, and Mr. S. M. Posey of Syracuse, New York, were united in marriage at the home of the bride yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock by Rev. W. J. Durham of this city. The young people left Burnet on the afternoon train for their future home in Syracuse, N.Y. They were accompanied as far as Austin by the groom's aunt and sister. The Messenger joins their many friends in wishing them a prosperous wedded life.
