Joyce E. Magnuson Hartmann, 65, of Manor, Texas passed away peacefully early Sunday morning on April 10th, 2011 with her family at her side. She was born in Elgin, Texas on November 13, 1945 to Rudolph and Margaret Magnuson.
Joyce was a graduate of Elgin High School and Texas Lutheran University. She taught school for 31 years. She was an active lifelong member of New Sweden Lutheran Church.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 43 years Stanley Hartmann and their children and grandchildren; their daughter Karen McManus and her husband Bill and their children Lauren and Will; daughter Kendra Silvus and her husband John and their children Caitlin and Ryan, son; Dr. Chris Hartmann and his wife Jen and their children Ben, Abby and Sam. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and brother Alan Magnuson.
She touched many lives and will be missed by all who love her. We want to thank all of her caregivers at Heatherwilde Assisted Living in Pflugerville, Texas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Sweden Church, 12809 New Sweden Lutheran Church Rd., Manor, Tx. 78653.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 10 a.m. at New Sweden Church with burial at New Sweden Cemetery, Manor.
Services are entrusted to Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home of Elgin.
Social Security had her last residence as Manor, Travis County, Texas.
Joyce married Stanley Theodor Hartmann, son of Theodor Hartmann and Gertrude Bernhardt.
