"Malinda Jane (Mallie) Stapleton Miles, daughter of Mike and Frankie Stapleton remembers being told that her father had gone for the doctor but when he returned, she had arrived being brought into the world by her Aunt Martha Malinda Insall Stapleton, wife of Uncle William Stapleton and Aunt Jane Stapleton Hume (later Scarbrough). She was named for the two ladies who assisted with her birth.
"Her oldest sister Elmo Lenore Stapleton called (Hittie) was named for the daughter of Aunt Jane Stapleton Hume. Her sister Clara Dell Stapleton known as Dell was named for Mrs. Bill Allen, a neighbor of the family and for Uncle William and wife's daughter Clara. Dell, being for the neighbor woman. Her father and mother bought their home and acreage from Mr. Lucian Walker. This home is near Weimar where several of the children were born."
