He was born April 16, 1932 in the Pleasant Grove community to Walter Covington and Lennie Warren Covington.
He married Anna Merle Epperson on May 5, 1950 in Center City.
He was a supervisor and telephone lineman for Central Texas Telephone. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include children Mike Covington and wife Elaine of Goldthwaite, Cheryl Kohns and husband Butch of San Angelo, Richard Covington of Goldthwaite, Debra Ward and husband David of Goldthwaite and Jennifer Thompson and husband Terry of Goldthwaite; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Earl Covington and wife Barbara for Goldthwaite; and sister, June Ward and husband Red of Hereford.
He was preceded in death by wife; sisters, Vallie Kelly and Wilda Hamilton; and a baby brother.
