Funeral services for James "Potty" Carter, 90, of Goldthwaite, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 at Center City Baptist Church in Center City. There will be no visitation.
He passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 in Goldthwaite.
He was born June 2, 1928 in Center City to Johnny Carter and Leona Moore Carter.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Carter of Spring Branch; three sisters, Leona Mays of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Lottie Davis of Goldthwaite and Mary Jo; one brother, Tip Carter of Minok, Illinois; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Carter and Leona Moore Carter.
Potty married Dorothy Nell Tyson, daughter of Vernard Dallas Tyson and June Bare, on 1 Jun 1946 in Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas.
