Ex-Barber Is Taken By Death At 76

Paul R. Benedix, 76, of 329 E. Vine St., died Saturday morning in a local hospital following a short illness.

Born in Texas, he moved to California in 1903. He was a barber and resided in Stockton for most of his life. He moved to Lodi five and one-half years ago after retiring.

He was a member of the Ebenezer Congregational Church, a member of the French Camp-Lathrop Grange and the Pomona Grange.

Survivors include his wife, Lena; two daughters, Mrs. Della Goertz of San Francisco and Mrs. Vivian Rea of Ripon; one brother, Otto Benedix of Valley Homes; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, in the Ebenezer Congregational Church with Rev. Gene Forrest of the First Assembly of God Church and Rev. Harry G. Pfeiff of the Ebenezer Congregational Church officiating.

Burial will be in Lodi Cemetery under the direction of the Lodi Funeral Home. The family has requested donations to the American Cancer Society.
