General Notes:
Her father was born in New York or Massachusetts, her mother in Washington D.C. At the time of the 1910 census, she was a seamstress working at home in Marble Falls, Burnet County, Texas. In 1920, Gertrude was proprietress of a hotel in Marble Falls. Three boarders were listed at that time. She was still listed as proprietor of a hotel in 1930 but there were no boarders. The home was valued at $3500. She was listed as widowed on both the 1920 and 1930 census, but apparently actually separated or divorced. Luther was living in California.
Gertrude married Luther Mitchell Wallace, son of John L. Wallace and Elizabeth C. Bond. (Luther Mitchell Wallace was born on 8 Nov 1870 in Dahlonega, Lumpkin, Georgia, United States 2 and died on 27 May 1941 in , Los Angeles County, California 6.)
