  General Notes:

C.A. Head's primary interests were in raising cattle, horses, sheep and goats, and in growing the necessary grain and hay to feed the livestock. He also served as a county commissioner in Mills County. He was instrumental in bringing some of the first angora goats to Mills County. He also operated one of the first steam powered thrashing machines in the area. There were six children born to this couple: Jimmy W., Viola (Chappell), Wesley W., Ellis, Nora (Mitchell), and J. Barton.

In the 1880 census, he was listed as a farmer in Hamilton County, Texas. In the 1900 census, his birth year was reported ten years off. He was reported as a farmer who owns his farm in Mills County, Texas. In the 1910 census, he was shown as a general farmer in Mills County, Texas. By the time of the 1920 census, he was running a stock farm in Mills County, Texas.

The Clint Head family gave strong leadership to the Methodist Church and the community of Center City. There is a stained glass window in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Clint A. Head at Center City United Methodist Church. 8

Clinton married Missouri Elizabeth Welch, daughter of Peter Stubbs Welch and Elizabeth J. Raines, on 17 Nov 1881. (Missouri Elizabeth Welch was born on 13 Nov 1859 in , Bell County, Texas,11 died on 24 Apr 1943 in Lometa, Lampasas County, Texas 11 12 and was buried on 25 Apr 1943 in Center City Cemetery, Center City, Mills County, Texas 11 13.). The cause of her death was senile mind.9
