His mother was head of the household which included siblings Margaret, Taylor and Jasper, and Jane Tate 71, probably his grandmother. At the time of the 1880 census, he was a farmer in Murphrees Valley, Blount County, Alabama. His household consisted of wife, Francis E., and children, Omacuzza, Martha J., Joel B., John B., Malissa A., and Levi B. At the time of the 1900 census, Green was a farmer in Hoods, Blount County, Alabama. Green owned his farm free of mortgage. Only his wife and son Levi were in the household. There was a boarder, Ellis C. Murphree, a public school teacher. At the time of the 1910 census, Green lived with son Joel and his wife Cenie in Hoods. At age 75 he was no longer working.
