Vera Bunting of Mt. Olive Community passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Hamilton General Hospital in Hamilton, Texas. She was 92 years of age.

Mrs. Bunting was born November 28, 1915 at Mt. Olive Community to Grover Poer and Lela Head Poer. She married L. C. Bunting on December 10, 1933 at McAllen, Texas. She relocated to Mills County, Texas from San Angelo, Texas in 1951. She was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church and made her living as a rancher.

Services were held Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel in Goldthwaite, Texas. Bro. Doug Holtzclaw officiated. Interment was at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mills County, Texas.

Pallbearers included Michael Grell, Scott Evans, Joe Alan Jones, Steven Grell, Keith Morgan, D'wayne Bunting. Honorary Pallbearers included Glenn Love, Sr., Cecil Partin, Jimmy Spurlock Sr. and Warren Harris.

Mrs. Bunting is survived by her three sons Howard Bunting of Lubbock, Texas, Gene Bunting of Houston, Texas and Carroll Bunting of Hamilton, Texas; two daughters, Iva Grell of Llano, Texas and Martha Teague of Austin, Texas; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; two brothers Leroy Poer of Arlington, Texas and Norman Poer of Fort Worth, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband L. C., One son Alfred and one daughter Rose Mary. ⁵
